Distributed Properties of Particulate Systems

In its most basic form, METSIM uses components. With the Comminution Module, you get component by size.

With size by component, the concepts of locked particles, liberation, and density distributions by size (average density of a partially liberated mineral, such as pyrite locked in quartz etc. ) come "into play".

METSIM has gravity separation and coal washing, and the coal system definition (which is composition and density variation in the by size distribution).

The property distribution (such as locked and liberated density distribution for solid inorganic particles) can easily be incorporated using the component separator, which accepts a separation factor for each size fraction. This vector of factors can be the result of your user function, which can calculate any distribution, such as a liberation density distribution.
